Emmanuel Cavacos Ceramics

Emmanuel Cavacos (1885-1976) was born in Greece but emigrated to the U.S. in 1901 before settling down in France where he studied at the Beaux Arts School in Paris and later married the French pianist Pauline Pradelle in 1915. Cavacos became a well known figure in the art colony of Paris and he achieved much acclaim for his sculptures during the 1920s and 1930s earning a silver medal at The International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925. Cavacos was awarded by the French government in 1927 the decoration of 'Officier de l'Academie'.
