Ettore Sottsass

Ettore Sottsass (1917-2007) was an Italian architect and designer working in the second half of the 20th century. Born in Austria he studied architecture in Turin, later moving to Milan, where he obtained his degree in architecture. In 1958 he began working for the Italian company Olivetti designing office equipment and furniture and at the same period designing avant-garde ceramics for the Italian factory Bitossi.
