Poole Pottery Ceramics

Founded in 1873 on Poole Quayside in Dorset, England the company was originally known as 'Carter's Industrial Tile Manufactory'. In the 1920s Jesse Carter joined with the designers Harold and Phoebie Stabler and potters John and Truda Adams to form Carter, Stabler, Adams which then became 'Poole Pottery'. Popular for its delicate floral 'Bluebird' pattern during the Art Deco period artisans such as Guy Sydenham (1916-2005) and Tony Morris carried the company through to the creativity of the 1950s and the 'Aegean' range of ceramics in the 1970s.
