Wedgwood Ceramics

The historic company of Wedgwood was founded in 1759 in Burslam, Staffordshire, England by Josiah Wedgwood. Reflecting Josiah's policy of commissioning works from celebrated artists of his day, the 20 th century has seen the collaboration of artists and designers such as John Skeaping (1901-1980), Eric Ravilious (1903-1942), Keith Murray (1892-1981), Norman Wilson (1902-1985) and Arnold Machin (1911-1999) in producing some of the best designs in ceramics for Wedgwood.
