Charles and Ray Eames
American Charles (1907-1978) and Ray (1912-1988) Eames are ranked amongst the most important designers of the 20th century. In the 1940s they were the first to design and mass produce moulded plywood furniture with compound curves. Their iconic designs include the DCW and LCW chair 1945/46, the Lounge Chair & Ottoman 1956 and the Chaise 1968. Charles and Ray Eames made ground breaking contributions to the fields of architecture, furniture design, industrial design, graphic and film.
