Ronson Metalware

Created by Louis V. Aronson in 1897 in America The Art Metal Works, later known as Ronson, was a company specialising in producing high quality cigar and cigarette lighters and stylish smoking accessories. The 'Wonderliter' was produced by Ronson as one of the first pocket lighters in 1913 and in 1926 Ronson developed and patented the 'Banjo' lighter - the first one motion lighter. During the 1920s and 1930s most of the designs in plated and enamelled finishes are attributed to the designs of Frederick Kaupmann.
