David Whitehead

David Whitehead & Sons Ltd was founded in 1815 by three brothers David, Peter and Thomas Whitehead as a textile company in Rossendale, Lancashire. From the 1950s the company engaged influential designers such as Terence Conran, Marian Mahler and Jacqueline Groag. After decades of producing traditional designs, the company took a radical turn after World War II making use of the rapid progress in printing techniques, by employing these designers to execute exciting contemporary patterns for the company.
